ST PAUL PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEYS AT SWOR & GATTO

When people think of the benefits of being a lawyer, often they think about big commission checks, or the prestige that comes with being a part of such an important profession. However, the most rewarding thing about what I do is actually a lot more personal than that. It’s about the people who come through my door who need help, and who don’t know how they can recover from what’s happened to them. It’s being the guy with the answers, who can help get my clients’ lives back on track, that is the biggest reward for me.

SERIOUS INJURIES REQUIRE SERIOUS HELP

A serious injury isn’t something you bounce back from easily, and for lots of people out there it can be a one-way trip to ruin. From expensive medical bills they may have no way of paying, to being out of work for a long stretch of time, to the changes it can make to their lives (both short-term and permanent), these factors can all leave someone feeling lost. My job in this situation is to be an anchor, and to give my clients something they can hold onto. To cut through the problems, and to help them find solutions.

It’s not an easy job by any stretch of the imagination. Every client, every case, and every situation is unique, and that means every one of them will require its own approach and strategy in order to solve the issues presented. However, watching as my clients find hope, and helping them take what looks like a life-altering mountain and reduce it to just a bump in the road is something that never stops being satisfying. Especially because I know that, without help, it’s very possible that these injuries could end up ruining people’s lives.

A TRADITION OF SERVICE

When I first started doing legal work in Florida, before I came north, I worked primarily with the homeless population. Seeing firsthand the problems people were dealing with, and being able to connect them to solutions to help them get back on their feet, was intensely rewarding for me. It made me feel like I was making a real difference in my clients’ lives, because I could see the difference that my filings were making when it came to their actual quality of living.

Moving into personal injury law was a sidestep in that regard, because it allowed me to maintain that tradition of service, and of helping people who need a hand up out of the situation they find themselves in. Whether they were hurt in an auto accident, or they were injured while on the job, these events can make a big impact on someone. And often it’s not until someone gets hurt that they realize their safety net is not as strong as they’d thought, and they need someone to help stop them from slipping. A lot of the time that’s something I can do, and all it takes is sitting down, reviewing a person’s situation, and determining what options they can pursue under the law.

REAL PEOPLE, REAL RESULTS

When people first walk into my office, they’re often going through a lot of emotions. They’re worried, they’re scared, and they’re trying to figure out how they’re going to help themselves and their loved ones. Especially if they can’t work, they can’t pay their bills, and they may not be able to fulfill their role as a mother, a father, or a spouse in the way they had previously. My job is to sit down, and to help them find ways to recover. To prevent all those disasters they see coming their way, and to help them get back on their feet.

And it never gets old.
